Clear intentions, from the start.
Breeding is a separate mode for owners who choose it, one pet at a time. It’s for introductions between owners, not a promise about health, fertility or outcomes.

Breeding introductions do not replace veterinary advice.
PetMate does not review, verify or clear any pet for breeding. Talk to a veterinarian about health, timing and suitability before any introduction.
Opt-in is explicit
A pet is in Breeding only because its owner turned Breeding on for that pet.
Per pet, on purpose
Breeding is never assumed from a pet’s neuter status. Each pet needs its own explicit opt-in.
Separate from Playdates
Breeding has its own preferences, likes, matches and chats. Nothing carries over from Playdates.
Pause any time
Turn Breeding off for a pet whenever you like. Its Playdates profile stays as it is.
Labelled for what it is.
Health details on a Breeding profile come from the owner. We show them as exactly that.
What you will see
- Owner-reported vaccination status
- Health notes written by the owner
- Documents uploaded by the owner
What it is not
- A veterinary review
- Proof of authenticity or current health
- A clearance or recommendation to breed
