Considerate by design.
PetMate is built around owner consent, privacy and animal welfare. Here is what that means in the product.
Draft for review. This is not final legal text.
This page is a draft pending review by local counsel in Lebanon. Do not rely on it as a legal statement until counsel has approved the final version.
What that means in practice
Six defaults you don’t have to switch on.
Private by default
Your profile shows your pet. Your contact details stay hidden until you choose to share them in chat.
Coarse area only
We show an area like Byblos or Baabda. Never your address or exact location.
Per-file document sharing
Share one document at a time. Every share expires, and you can end it early.
Block and report
Block an owner or report a profile or message from any chat. Blocking is immediate.
Connect after mutual interest
No cold messages. A chat opens only when both owners show interest.
Adults only, 18+
PetMate is for owners aged 18 or older. Accounts are created by adults.
You stay in control of documents.
Uploads are optional, and sharing is always your call.
- Share one file at a time, not your whole profile
- Every share has an expiry date
- End sharing early whenever you like
Honest limits
We’d rather say what PetMate does not do.
PetMate does not
- Verify that a document is genuine
- Review a pet’s health or suitability to breed
- Supervise meetups
Good habits for owners
- Meet in a public place
- Stay with your pet, always
- Block and report if something feels off
If something feels wrong
Block the person, then report the profile or message. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
